The first trailer for 'The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies' 2014 has been released and the featurette offers both something old and new. The 2-minutes and 04-seconds trailer shows some scenes fans had already watched in the first two sequels and few others that critics find “unbelievable.”

The first trailer features the film’s top actors. Ian McKellen remains a familiar with strong presence in the film as Gandalf. The film will not be complete without Martin Freeman who reprises his role as the funny and courageous Bilbo Baggins.

The featurette began with Bilbo looking confused and disturbed of what to come before him in the Lonely Mountain. With Bilbo’s voice heard as he was talking to Gandalf in the background, more scenes of the war have been juxtaposed in the trailer, introducing the five armies.

"One day I'll remember," Bilbo said at the beginning of the trailer. "Remember everything that happened here - the good, the bad, those who survived and those that did not.”

A cut-to-cut editing of the scenes followed showing what to expect from the battle, described as “the defining chapter of the middle earth saga.” It provided a sneak peek of the five armies: the Elves of Mirkwood, the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain, the Goblins and Wargs of Moria, Gundabad and the Misty Mountains against the Men of the Long Lake, and the great Eagles of the Misty Mountains, said RealityWorld.

The first trailer of the final of Peter Jackson’s trilogy featured beautiful trio of elves: Cate Blanchet, Orlando Bloom and Evangeline Lilly. E! Online described Luke Evans’ Bard “as commanding as ever,” as seen in the video.

The film showed familiar scenes including angry Smaug flying toward the village at Long Lake. It will be recalled that the last scene of Jackson’s second sequel, “The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug,” had the fiery Smaug leaving his lair in the mountain to take out his revenge to the village known to one of his major opponents - - the dwarves.

“The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies” stars some of the top actors in Hollywood including Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield), Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel), Orlando Bloom (Legolas) and Luke Evans (Bard). It also features the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch for his voice of Smaug and the Necromancer.

Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, Peter Jackson’s third sequel is produced by New Line Cinema, Metro Goldwyn-Mayer and Wingnut Films. The final installment hits theaters in on Dec 12 (United Kingdom) and Dec 17 (United States). It is scheduled for release in Hong Kong on Dec 17 and Singapore on Dec 18.
