NBA Finals 2015: NBA's “Baby-faced Assassin” Set to Eliminate All-NBA Elite

The Baby-faced Assassin

(Photo : Reuters) If the Warriors become this years NBA Champions, that means Stephen Curry would have eliminated every member of the 2015 All-NBA First Team in the playoffs.

Stephen Curry, the reigning 2014-2015 NBA Regular Season MVP, has lived up to the "Baby-faced Assassin" moniker all year long. "Baby-faced" can obviously be attributed to his youthful looks. The guy is 27 years old and, if you shave off his beard, he can easily pass as someone who just graduated from high school. And if you look at the photos of him beside Lebron James, you can even say he looks young enough to be the King's son.

The "Assassin", on the other hand, is a perfect description of Curry's cold-blooded ruthlessness on the floor. Assassins are cunning and calculating snipers that can destroy or incapacitate targets from afar. With Curry's unlimited range and abilities, he can easily break your team's heart with a steal, a perfect pass to a cutting teammate, a graceful slash and layup, or a dagger three from deep. These things he does with a smile on his face, or a grin, depending which side you're on. Assassins are also effective operators who study their opponents and cross off their names from a hit list.

Enter the 2015 All-NBA First Team, where Curry leads a list of elite players who are performing at the highest level at their respective positions. This is his hit list, and they are Marc Gasol, Anthony Davis, Lebron James, and James Harden. According to NBA.Com, Steph and Lebron are the only members who received unanimous First Team votes.

Go through that list again and you'll see the common denominator between them is Curry. Each of them, with the exception of Lebron (pending the results of The Finals), has been an "assassinated" opponent of Curry in this year's playoffs, as featured in SBNation.Com.

The Warriors swept the Pelicans in the first round despite Anthony's 31.5 points and 11 rebounds per game. Gasol, who averaged 19 and 11, thought his Grizzlies had a chance when they led the series 2-to-1. Golden State won the next three games decisively. Then there's Harden, this season's MVP bridesmaid, who averaged 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists for the Houston Rockets. They thought they could stage a comeback after being down 0-3. They lost 4-to-1.  One by one, with laser precision, Curry methodically broke down and eliminated each member of the All-NBA First Team with ease. Now all that's left is King James.

Warriors took Game 1 of the NBA Finals in overtime, 108-100. Sports Illustrated reported that Lebron may have stolen the show with 44 points, but Curry's "quiet" 26 points and eight assists were enough to seal the game.

If Game 1 was any indication, we may actually witness, for first time, how a "Baby-faced Assassin" eliminates the league's best players and claim the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
