There's no denying the rift between pop stars Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, as mentioned by Perez Hilton, and now rumors are circulating that Katy Perry's new song "1984" might be revenge to Swift because of her "1989" album.

Registration of "1984" on BMI came just weeks following Taylor's release of her music video for "Bad Blood," which, as everybody knows, is about her feud with Perry.

According to reports, Perry, 30, might be working on a different approach with her fourth album. The producer of her new single "1984" for her upcoming album is neither Dr. Luke nor Max Martin.

Katy, born in 1984, has kept mum about her public feud with Taylor in recent weeks. With this new song, it appears she is letting music speak for her as she previously did with her divorce with Russell Brand.

In a Billboard interview earlier this year, Katy mentioned something about hearing her side when it came to the Swift issue, according to Mirror. She also said that she wasn't simply going to take hits from somebody "trying to defame her character, adding that that person is "going to hear about it.""

The feud between the two performers began last year after Taylor said "Bad Blood" is about another female artist who had been mean to her.

Rumors of Katy being that female artist became more apparent as she tweeted shortly after, "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing," referencing the lead villain on the hit comedy "Mean Girls."

Proof of Katy's registration for "1984" can be seen on Twitter, as fans quickly screengrabbed the move on the official BMI website.

As for "Bad Blood," it only became number one for a week. The hype has mostly been because of Swift's amazing marketing team and her star-studded music video. According to Headline Planet, the hype had even been "lukewarm" at best.

The song is now among "1989's" lowest-ranking singles, trailing behind her other songs "Style," "Blank Space," and "Shake It Off," reported The Inquisitr.

Meanwhile, the public's reception on Twitter on the name of Katy's new song has been mixed.
