'Dark Souls 3' PS4 Release Date Set On Early 2016; New Game Details, In-Game Screenshots Revealed! [VIDEO]

Good news gaming fans as the release date for "Dark Souls 3" have been revealed along with new game details and screenshots of the third instalment.

According to Polygon, "Dark Souls 3" is set to launch on the early months of 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC due to a leaked photo reading with the words "Early 2016" written on it.

Rumor has it that both Bandai Namco and From Software will be showcasing "Dark Souls 3" at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo on June 16-18 in the Los Angeles Convention Center; however, both publisher did not make any comments regarding the rumored appearance at E3 2015, IGN reported.

Aside from the release date, Techno Buffalo reported that several in-game screenshots for "Dark Souls 3" have spread thoughout that internet. YouTube channel "The Know" was able to compiled these said images in a video.


It also listed several new gameplay details of the game. The first of these is that "Dark Souls 3" can now be played up to four players with co-op or PvP options. There are atleast 10 character classes are present at the beginning with over 100 weapons and 40 new pieces of armor scattered throughout the game.

There are also 45 enemy monsters and 15 boss characters present in "Dark Souls 3" and some of them are recurring enemy units as well. Bosses in the game will have a new "Heat Up" method that changes their fighting tactics to surprise and confuse other players.

There are two new gameplay systems that featured in the third instalment - "Sacrifice Ceremonies" and "Sword Fighting Arts." "Sacrifice Ceremonies" allows players to use the corpses of fallen characters and ressurect them. "Sword Fighting Arts" will likely focus on close range combat as it has two sets of attacks called "Rush In" and "Circle."

Other features includes 60 minutes of in-game cutscenes and 12 new areas within the game.

It was previously reported that the first "Dark Souls" director Hidetaka Miyazaki is rumored to helm "Dark Souls 3" while "Dark Souls 2" directors Tomohiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimaru will be joining in the game's production.

Gaming fans are expecting "Dark Souls 3" at E3 2015 next week and hopefully see the first trailer and gameplay of the third Dark Souls title.
