"Jurassic World" has taken the world by storm by becoming the film with the biggest box office opening in Hollywood and world history. Just this weekend, "World" raked in $524.1 million this weekend, thanks in large part to the second-largest film market in the world--China.

According to data from Universal Pictures, "Jurassic World" roared with $100.1 million following its first five days in the Asian country.

It quickly demoted "San Andreas" to second place, which was last week's box office hit in China. It earned $81.7 million after 13 days, according to Variety.

One of the main driving force behind the popularity of "San Andreas"' in China is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who came to Beijing for the film's promotion.

As for "Jurassic World," which stars Chris Pratt, it earned way more than "San Andreas" in just its opening week in China, which began last Wednesday.

The dinosaur movie had the biggest opening weekend in China and in the world.

"Jurassic World" opened in Chinathe same time it opened in the United States, which is reportedly uncommon, resulting to a boost in sales, with $100.1 million in just five days.

Another the reason behind the action film's huge sales in China is its genre, according to industry analysts.

"That market likes sci-fi movies, that's a big part of it," said Chief Box Office Analyst Phil Contrino at BoxOffice.com. "You look at some recent hits there like 'Transformers' and 'Interstellar' . . . and there's a big response there."

Hollywood appears to be raking in the big bucks in China this 2015. Films like "Furious 7" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" also had large sums in their opening weeks, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Apart from films' genres, another reason for Hollywood's success in China is the country's size and growth, even if heavy movie regulations allow only 34 foreign films yearly, reported CNN.

"Jurassic World" has become number 1 in all 66 countries it premiered in, earning $315.3 million in its first week. The film is also Universal's biggest opening weekend in countries such as the Philippines, Australia, Korea, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
