The acquisition of centre-back from Charlton Athletic is big move for the Liverpool FC, who is expecting Gomez to be a lot mature next season. Last season, Gomez made 24 appearances in all competitions in the championship side Charlton Athletic and was guaranteed to get to the Premier League after a season in England national under-19 football team.

He is thought to be a versatile player who can play either full back or central defender. With his capability, he can be worthy for the Merseyside club if he could break into the first team football next season. Also, he has been described by football pundits as a complete footballer with his style widely compared to former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand via Express.co.uk. Adding more to his skills, he is notably very physical and able to produce dangerous runs on the counter attack.

Gomez is also one of the players who played and won the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. As everyone knows Liverpool FC won the Premier League title 18 times throughout their club career. That is why Gomez couldn't hide his gladness to be part of such a prestigious football club next season.

He stated that it felt surreal and he couldn't absorb it yet. It's a dream come true and just thrilled to begin as soon as possible. As he was always following the Reds when he was still young, he always desires to learn to play good football for the club.
