EXO's Chinese member Lay has hit the headlines, though not as an EXO member but as a regular member on the Chinese variety program "Go Fighting!" In an episode that aired on Sunday, June 21, Lay reportedly got emotional because his game partner took off alone with his share of the gold bars.

According to the rules of "Go Fighting!" members have to complete the tasks given to them. Korea Boo reported that in the recent episode, members were asked to collect the second highest number of gold bars. Lay was supposed to complete the task alone but he decided to team up with Sun Honglei. And during their lunch break when Lay went to the washroom, Honglei disappeared with Lay's case of gold bars, according to Korea Boo.

Lay did not take it sportingly and saw it as an act of betrayal. Korea Boo reported that he had no money on him and was seen asking fans for donations. The situation made him teary, and he was also seen discussing the betrayal with strangers. Later when he met the other members of "Go Fighting," he told them about Honglei's betrayal. Korea Boo quoted him as saying, "I think we really need to have more trust [in each other]!"

And when the culprit joined them, Lay told him, as quoted by Korea Boo, "From the moment you took the case of gold bars, you have to be aware of the responsibility and duty that come with taking it." He also said that it was not a matter of right or wrong but principle and that he trusted him with his case of gold bars.

Lay, however, may not have much to complain about at the end of the episode, as Korea Boo reported that Honglei and the rest of the cast members came together to help Lay win the task of the episode.

Meanwhile, Lay is the only Chinese member who is actively promoting EXO's repackaged second album "Love Me Right." The original Chinese-Korean idol group consisted of 12 members, and four of them were from China, Kris, Luhan, Lay and Tao. Kris and Luhan quit the group last year, while there is uncertainty surrounding Tao's status.
