The Sacramento Kings are currently looking for another point guard to possibly start for the team or spell Darren Collison. And reportedly, one of their primary targets is New Orleans' playmaker Jrue Holiday.

ESPN's Chris Broussard recently tweeted that Holiday is among five point guards that the Kings are eyeing in the offseason. Broussard said that the others are Denver's Ty Lawson, Atlanta's Dennis Schroder, and in free agency Rajon Rondo and Jeremy Lin.

The 6-foot-4 former UCLA Bruin's contract is set to expire in 2017 and he is owed $21.8 million in the next two years. While his salary may be somewhat hefty, he can certainly back it up with his play on the court.

Holiday averaged 14.8 points, 6.9 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game in a little over 32 minutes a night for the Pelicans last season. He is also coming off the best free throw shooting season of his career at 85.5 percent. These are quite remarkable numbers considering that most of the time he plays off the bench as a substitute for Tyreke Evans.

One issue about the 25-year-old floor general is his health. He has only played 74 regular season games during the past two seasons in New Orleans due to a recurring injury on his right leg.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Philadelphia 76ers were fined $3 million for not divulging Holiday's nagging injuries to the Pelicans before they traded him in July 2013. The six-year veteran spent his first four years with the Sixers and had contributed well as a starter.

The Kings seems to be hoping that Holiday is still young enough to heal completely and to get back to his old form in Philly.

However, the Times Picayune's John Reid reported that Holiday appears to be in the long-term plans of incoming Pelican's coach Alvin Gentry. The newly-minted champion assistant coach commended Holiday's ability to orchestrate the offense and that he is looking forward have him back healthier than ever in October.

To date, there is still no word as to what Sacramento is willing to offer the Pelicans for them to be able to snatch Holiday away. And it seems like New Orleans will not be easily pleased to let go.
