Reports circulated that Nick Kyrgios will withdraw from Australia's Davis Cup match against Kazakhstan if fellow teammate Bernard Tomic will not play. This was after Tomic, who exited Wimbledon Friday, was removed from the Australian Davis Cup team after citing Tennis Australia's lack of support for his tennis ambitions during a post-match interview.

It was reported that Kyrgios, in retaliation to the decision of Tennis Australia, will no longer play Davis Cup, but the 20-year-old was quick to deny the allegations.

"As a proud Australian it's a pleasure and privilege to be able to represent my country in Davis Cup," Kyrgios said as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald. "As long as I'm able, fit and healthy, It's an opportunity I will never pass up."

It's good news for Australia as Kyrgios, currently ranked no. 25 in the world, continues to make waves in the tennis circuit. But he's more than just a flamboyant youngster who throws his racquet into the crowd, hits a volley between his legs, or gets into verbal arguments with umpires. He has the game that can rival the big names. He has the flair that can spark up the crowd. Most of all, he's still in the Wimbledon draw and has a good chance of winning it.

"Nick Kyrgios might win this year's Wimbledon. In my eyes, he has a really good chance of going very far and he can definitely do some damage," former no. 1 and seven-time Grand Slam winner Mats Wilander told Fox Sports. "There is no level, no height to what he can jump. He just looks at the opponent on the other side and says, 'OK, I've got to win this match,' and he figures out a way to do it."

Next up for the Australian is France's Richard Gasquet. The 29-year-old leads their head-to-head with 2 wins against 1 but at last year's Wimbledon, it was Kyrgios who came out victorious after a nail-biting 5-setter.

"It was very tough because I had nine match points and I couldn't do it," Gasquet told The Telegraph pertaining to last year's defeat.

It's still likely for Kyrgios to have a repeat performance this year but don't count out the Frenchman who has only one goal in mind: "Of course it's revenge."
