Taylor Swift Teases New Album on Instagram

"Red" international pop star Taylor Swift reportedly teased about a new album in an Instagram clip.

It seems like stars have been using the social media to promote their big releases this year and this is what Swift most likely did.

In a mysterious Instagram clip, Swift showed herself pushing an elevator button numbered 18 for six times. The caption of the clip reads, "So, here's your first clue..."

The web has been in search for the answers to this cryptic message. Fans have been speculating that this could mean her single will be released on Aug. 18. If that is the case, then her album release will be sooner than expected.

Other fans also said that it could mean a new single could be heard 18 days from now.

"18 songs on the new album? The 18th of a month is the release date? 18 days from now? She's clicking it when she's already on the 18th floor... WHAT COULD THIS MEAN," writes an Instagram follower.

Another Instagram fan suggested that her next song might be entitled, "Broken Elevator," since Swift had pushed the 18 button even though she was already on the 18th floor.

One of her fans said this could be a Morse code.

"The 18th letter is R - Roses (OMG)" chimes in user swiftieromano. Or, wait: "The tapping means T5 in morse code so my guess is that something from the new album will come out on the 18th," snappleswift wrote.

Others even got frustrated thinking about all the possibilities of Swift's mystery message.

"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PLAY WITH MY EMOTIONS?" said bean1596.

Meanwhile, according to Billboard, the August 18 release is very possible. This could follow Swift's known pattern for releasing records. All of her four albums came near the October timeline: self-entitled debut album, "Taylor Swift," was released on Oct. 26, 2006; "Fearless" launched on Nov. 11, 2008; "Speak Now" dropped Oct. 25, 2010; and "Red" debuted Oct. 22, 2012.
