Sony Xperia Z series is adding a new member - Xperia Z5 this September. The Japanese website Tknudevaa has reported that the new generation smartphone will come with vast changes in the hardware specifications and design.

The technology-based website also claimed that Sony is planning to launch other members of the Xperia family as well. This may be a marketing ploy to counter the competiting smartphones like Moto X 2015 and Nexus 5 2015, which are also expected to release soon.

In this regard, Sony is all set to launch all the members of the Z5 series, including the Xperia Z-5 Compact and the Xperia Z5 Ultra, which will probably have Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor.

Regarding the hardware specifications, the device is expected to have 4GB of RAM though it must be mentioned that Sony has not provided any concrete information about the hardware specification of the phone. 

Display-wise, the screen size of the Xperia Z5 might remain same as Xperia Z4v though Sony might target to enhance the pixel density from 565 pixels per inch to higher value. It is expected that the X-Reality Engine and oleophobic coating still remains the same.

Xperia Z4v had a GPU chip of Adreno 430 but what kind of GPU Xperia Z5 will carry is still unknown. There are certainly some additional and advanced features in the upcoming device because according to Techtimes, Xperia Z5 will have a built in fingerprint sensor.  

Sony has emphasized on greater battery life, as a result, the Xperia Z5 will carry 4,500 mAh battery capacity whereas the Xperia Z4v has 3,000mAh capacity. The camera sensor might also have improvements compared to Xperia Z4v's 20.7MP rear camera and 5.1MP front camera. The new addition to the camera feature of the Xperia Z5 is the CMOS sensor intelligence.

The sensor is manufactured with the Exmor RS IMX230 chip. Besides the sensor size will be ½.3@ size with geo tagging, face detection, touch focus, panorama mode shooting. The rear camera will be able to record 2160p videos at 30 frames per second, 1080p at 60 fps and 720 at 120 fps.

The front camera will also record 1080p HD video at 30 fps and it will support the 4K video recording and HDR recording as well. The battery remains non-removable as stated in The Inquirer. Sony has not confirmed the operating system of Xperia Z5 but its predecessor has Android Lollipop 5.0, therefore, it might have Android Lollipop 5.1.1 OS.
