Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 5 Plus Release Date Rumors: Upcoming Xiaomi Devices Will Have Snapdragon 810 Processor

Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus are expected to launch in the last quarter of the year. 

Xiaomi Mi 4 has been on market from August 2014 and hence its successors Xiaomi Mi 5, along with Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus, are expected to launch soon to maintain the yearly launch cycle. Weibo has published a snapshot of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5, accompanied by the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus.

Hardware-wise, both the devices are power packed. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will feature a 5.2-inch screen size with QHD LCD display type with Gorilla Glass 4 being included for glass protection and the handset will feature 2.5D edges. 

The processor is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, along with 4GB RAM.

Other features of the upcoming smartphone include excellent photo capturing experience with 16MP rear camera and 13MP sharp front camera sensor. The phone will have a typical battery backup with 3,000 mAh battery supported by quick charge option. The operating system of the phone is expected to have an Android Lollipop 5.1 firmware though it will be upgradable to Android M on its launch.

The phablet Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus is expected to be modeled on the lines of Mi Note Pro. The phablet will have 5.7-inch screen size and the display type will be QHD, which was offered on the Mi Note Pro; however, the Xiaomi manufacturer claims that user will be able to notice the improvements in the display resolution and pixel density when compared  to Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.

The hardware segment will have the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The camera department will have might 23MP rear camera sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and laser autofocus, while the front camera will allow to capture photos with 12MP sharp shooter plus the battery capacity is slightly greater than the Mi 5 with 3,500mAh power.

The company has claimed that the charging time from 0 to 100 percent takes 50 minutes only. For greater longevity and toughness, the body of the phone will probably have metallic body finishing.
