Novak Djokovic is playing as he should be. The world no. 1 is in his best form as he heads into the semifinals of the Wimbledon Championships after beating former US Open Champion Marin Cilic in straight sets. The Serb will next face Richard Gasquet, the only Frenchman left in the draw after Roger Federer defeated Giles Simon.

It could be another easy win for Djokovic who, in their 13 meetings, has defeated Gasquet twelve times both in clay and hard courts. It is their first encounter on grass, however, but Nole is poised to reach the finals with a 3-set win.

At this stage of the tournament, it would be unwise to downplay the world no. 1. Despite a hiccup in the 4th round when he needed five sets to beat South African Kevin Anderson, Djokovic has been playing solid tennis so far. Playing against an aggressive player after enduring a 5-setter a day before could spell trouble for some players, but not for Nole who found a way to stay focused.

"It was a very solid performance after a tough five-set match against Kevin in the fourth round," he told BBC. "I didn't know how my body was going to feel. I was hoping I was going to play well and that's what I did. The top players are expected to reach the final stages of these competitions, but still I'm happy tomake my way through. Of course I try not to take it for granted."

Gasquet, on the other hand, is in his second Wimbledon semifinal but he has yet to reach the finals of a grand slam. He knows that he's the underdog and admits that he has to be in his best form to face a player who has a good record against him.

"It will be tough but I'm happy with how I've played," said Gasquet. "I'll try to play my best again against the best player in the world."

The winner of the match will face either Federer or Andy Murray but no matter who wins on the bottom half of the draw, Djokovic remains as the favorite to take the Golden cup.
