For a photo sharing app that has been followed by millions, including celebrities, Instagram may be showing some flaws a little bit late than expected. Apparently, Instagram can keep user's photo in HD quality, but will never give them the joy of viewing it.

According to Talk Android, the popular photo sharing app Instagram has been storing photos in HD that were previously uploaded in the standard pixels of 640 x 640. The storing was instantly noticed because of its significant upgrade to 1080 x 1080 pixels. The catch? Users can't view the HD photos yet on their mobile phones. If they can hardly wait, and need to see them in HD, the image should be uploaded recently or view it on the desktop, where they need to retrieve the images' source code.

If users are not familiar with the source code retrieval, they can open an image on Instagram via desktop and right click the image. Once they choose the "Inspect element," the source code will appear as well as the URL link and they have to copy and paste it on the top bar to retrieve the photo in HD.

While Instagram has not fully implemented the new project, users are bound to speculate that this might be the turning point of low quality photos to an upgraded High Definition image. This is reportedly not hard to accomplish as smartphones nowadays have revolutionized into the camera / video camera stint that provides excellent images, even in the absence of photo editing. In a statement made by Alex Holllander, he said "I can confirm that we are rolling out of 1080 to Android and iPhone, and most people should see it on their mobile app."

In a related news, Engadget featured Instagram's new series of apps for their iOS and Android with a significant feature on its Search and Explore platform. The application will enable the user to follow trends in real time, including trending hashtags and places. The updated versions are all available and can be enjoyed by Instagram users.
