Former Los Angeles Lakers power forward Jordan Hill is likely on the move to Indiana as the Pacers are reportedly close to offering the 27-year-old big man a deal, as per Bleacher Report.

Frank Vogel's frontline had taken a serious hit last week after losing David West to the San Antonio Spurs and trading Roy Hibbert to the Lakers for future draft picks, but the team instantly filled-in their need with Hill's impending acquisition.

The former Arizona Wildcat was at his most productive for Byron Scott last season, averaging career-highs of 12 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in almost 27 minutes a night as a starter most of the time.

But Hill became in and out of the starting lineup late in the season as Scott favored Ed Davis, Ryan Kelly, and Robert Sacre to pack the frontcourt.

Pacers president Larry Bird had expressed his desire to play All-Star Paul George at the power forward spot and having the dynamic Hill at center would make so much sense for what the team envisions next season.

With Hill and George up front, the Pacers will become a smaller but a so much quicker and faster team that would be hard for opponents to contain. The eight-year veteran would be the perfect complement for George as he is not the traditional post-up five that would demand the ball inside.

Hill thrives on offensive boards and fast break baskets which are highly unusual but effective for a center. He is also good at finishing alley-oops, a decent scorer and shot blocker and an energetic entity on defense that could lead to more steals and opportunities to run in transition.

SB Nation reported that Hill had already agreed to sign with the Pacers, but the "terms of the contract are still being worked out."

While Hill was efficient for the Lakers last season, RealGM indicated that Mitch Kupchak did not use their team option for the 6-foot-10 center-forward this offseason because of the return of promising big man Julius Randle from injury and the acquiring of Hibbert and Brandon Bass.

The virtual exchange of Hibbert and Hill between the Pacers and Lakers are reportedly equally advantageous for both teams as both players are more suited to the intended styles of play of Vogel and Scott.
