Drake "White Face" controversy may have not been meant intentionally by the rapper though. The 28-year-old rapper also superimposed his face onto African-American celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Kanye West, according to The Inquisitr.

It's clear that the Drake "White Face" controversy was unexpected and unintentional, however, in current times people easily get offended by anything.

Below are just some tweets by fans who have found the "Energy" video offensive:

While the Drake "White Face" controversy has made many fans angry, others have also defended Drake's new video.

"Wasn't the point of impersonating these people to show examples of famous people who have a lot of haters and what not?" said commenter "unfriendlyblackhottie" in a Gossip Cop article about the Drake "White Face" controversy.

"What is wrong with you Americans?? You have so many high and mighty and holier than thou standards, you get offended by friggin everything!! Get a life, lighten up, develop a sense of humour, geeez!!" said another commenter.

Besides Drake's "White Face" controversy, "Energy" has been liked by many critics.

"Energy" is "bonkers - in a good way," according to Consequence of Sound. "Now that it's finally been revealed, however, we can safely say that the Canadian MC's lived up to fans' expectations of a totally bonkers visual experience."

Directed by Fleur & Manu who are known for their work with M83, "Energy" also impressed Noisey which said it's "the craziest sh*t we've ever seen."

Amid all controversy and backlash, Drake certainly has the last laugh in this issue. The year 2015 has been successful for the rapper, who is currently in the top 20 due to his album "If You're Reading This It's Too Late." The album reportedly hit No. 1 following its first week of release. His Jungle Tour has also been a success.

As for Drake, he has yet to comment on the "white face" controversy, reported Fashion & Style.
