Serena Williams may have recently captured her sixth Wimbledon crown, but the win didn't stop haters from mocking the tennis star on Twitter and Instagram.

After the latest body-shaming controversy, Twitter was flooded with offensive comments, this time targeting Williams' eyebrows:

"I'm currently having a little breakdown over Serena Williams' eyebrows, they make me want to cry and throw tweezers at her," one user posted.

And another one said: "Serena Williams may of won but seriously those eyebrows!!"

In response, the world no. 1 posted a live video of herself getting her eyebrows done in a salon with a caption that said:

"Lol finally getting them shaped! Hahahha #haters I love you!!! Hahah but I still like them all natural! But for now you win lol'."

Following her Wimbledon win, she also posted a photo of herself donning a polka dot bikini and showing off her fantastic bod while basking under the sun on a beach in Sweden.

Criticisms on Williams, however, are nothing new. The public has longed focus on her looks more than her achievements. Terms like "gorilla" and "savage" have been attached to her name. Recently, David Frum of the New York Times also joined the mockery bandwagon by tweeting about the star's manly physique and steroid use.

All these and more circulate Serena's image despite being a top athlete who's about to break Steffi Graf's record of grand slam wins and achieve a career grand slam for 2015. Even beating Maria Sharapova 17 times doesn't give her justice - she only makes half of what Sharapova earns off the court. Notwithstanding the fact that she was in the cover of Vogue and ESPN's body issue, it's a sinister way to look at what's happening without raising the issue of racism or sexism which remains prevalent in the sporting world.

It is a fact that silencing critics who remain behind closed doors is not an easy job. It's also quite a task to stop the public from hurling insults. But Williams is once again the queen of the All England Club and she's somewhere in the world enjoying her well-deserved $3 million prize money while waiting for her name to be rewritten on the history books.

No matter what we all say, Serena wins. And that's all that matters.
