During his Davis Cup match against France on Sunday, Andy Murray called for a trainer after a slip to check on his hip - a familiar scene also displayed at Wimbledon two weeks ago. But the world no. 3 confirmed that it's nothing serious.

"It's something that has happened before, fortunately it is not a muscle thing," he told the Express.

Murray once battled a back problem that required him to undergo surgery at the end of 2013. Fortunately for the 28-year-old, he will proceed to the hardcourt season injury-free but not without a little respite after his glorious Davis Cup win.

"I do need to rest now and get some treatment; my body is just not used to rallies of 25 to 30 shots and I didn't feel at my best," Murray added. "But I wanted to win - not just for myself but for the team."

Great Britain edged France 3-1 with Murray winning against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gilles Simon in his singles rubbers. He and his brother Jamie also defeated Tsonga and Nicolas Mahut in the doubles tie held at Queen's Club. Murray and team will next face Australia in September for a place in the finals.

Meanwhile, the team from Down Under may see former no. 1 Lleyton Hewitt carrying the flag as team captain after his retirement next year. Tennis Australia, however, confirmed that the slot is still open for possible candidates including the 2-time Grand Slam winner.

"I think Lleyton's a fantastic candidate," said TA president Steve Healy as reported by Supersport. "He's just the most passionate Davis Cup player, and he's done a great job I think rebuilding a relationship with Bernie (Tomic) and all that sort of thing. But I just think there needs to be process and he'll be obviously a huge candidate for it, but we'd just like to see a process. We'd like to hear from Lleyton - and I've told Lleyton - what his vision for Davis Cup and the team is, and so on."

This year's Australian team is headed by Wally Masur who led his squad to a comeback after being down 0-2 against Kazakhstan over the weekend. After securing the doubles, Sam Groth, who replaced the controversial Nick Kyrgios, won his singles match to tie the score and it was Hewitt in the end who gave Australia the winning match for a place in the semis.
