Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu is not afraid to speak her mind when it comes to her post-pregnancy body. For the 38-year-old mother, maintaining her health is far more important than being conscious about her body image.

Hsu recently called out fat-shamers who continuously steer public attention to her weight one year after giving birth to her daughter Wang Hsi-yueh. Through a social media post, Hsu said that she is very much comfortable with how she looks and does not intend to slim down for the sake of beauty.

"Everybody has their own unique beauty. Now I am neither fat nor thin, I am enjoying my life and everything is fine," Hsu posted.

Early in July, a picture of Hsu circulated the Internet that prompted rumors of her second pregnancy. In the photo, she was seen with a protruding tummy. The actress quickly took to social media and announced that she does not intend to be pregnant again. She further quipped that she simply "must have eaten too much."

Hsu encountered a lot of difficulties before and during her pregnancy. Since getting married to Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2011, it took Hsu three painstaking years to finally get pregnant. From seeking the help of several doctors to giving up her vegetarian lifestyle, Hsu tried everything she can to bear her husband a child.

This also resulted in her gaining her heaviest weight at 79 kg. For one year, Hsu attempted to lose weight using many different slimming methods. Her journey to weight loss led her to realize that she has to gain respect for her health instead. She also began to view her goal of a "stick thin" image as a bad example for girls.

"My weight was only 35 kg and [I] can be considered anorexic . . . Of course, being overweight can also affect your health, but I believe being stick thin is no longer a trend," Hsu bravely declared.

Despite putting on weight unimaginable for her, Hsu was happy to note that her husband never called her "fat." He reportedly described Hsu's expanding waistline as "very sexy."
