"American Ninja Warrior" Season 7 shot Monday's viewership ratings to a sky-high 6.5 million total viewers.

The NBC sports entertainment competition even out-rated "The Bachelorette" in the demo ratings, drawing a 2.0 as compared to the latter's 1.9, according to TV Line. According to producer NBC, the TV show is also up by 29% as compared to last season's average.

In a ratings review by Hidden Remote, Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" trailed behind at 3.2 million viewers, as well as ABC's "The Whisperers" at a steady 3.2 million viewers and The CW's "Penn & Teller" opened at a conservative 1.8 million viewers.

"American Ninja Warrior" debuted in December 2009 in Los Angeles. The show is a spin-off of the Japanese television series "Sasuke" that features the world's most difficult obstacle courses, which "ninja warrior" hopefuls must tackle until the end in order to win.

Over the past seven seasons, the competition has seen participants from some of the toughest sports including MMA fighters, Olympians, pro wrestlers, and rock climbers, to name a few.

The top-rating Monday episode took the obstacle course to Kansa City, Missouri where 15 more competitors moved on for a shot to becoming the first American Ninja Warrior.

The season's oldest competitor thus far is 53-year-old Jon Stewart who constructed his very own backyard "salmon ladder" to help him practice, Bleacher Report learned.

Unfortunately, after successfully scaling the salmon ladder, Stewart could not keep the momentum and failed at the "flying shelf grab."

Another Kansas competitor Isaac Caldiero had a little strategy before attacking the evening's toughest course, the "body drop." He dried his shoes before making the attempt, and it almost worked until he lost grip just a few feet from finishing the obstacle, the news site reported.

The 15 Kansas City finishers have earned a spot to the Las Vegas competition.
