According to Wired that quotes the experience of security experts Charlie Miller and Chris Valasek, new type of hacking technology will give hackers access to a car's control systems. This will empower them to maneuver the machine in accordance to their requirements, obviously against the wish of the consumer.

The experiment involved controlling a Jeep Cherokee from the basement of their homes. The vehicle in question was being driven on the edge of downtown in St. Louis at approximately seventy meter per hour. Surprisingly, the driver was shocked when he started to notice changes in the control of the vehicle. For instance, the vents of the vehicle were blasting cold air at maximum, clearly against the original settings fed by the driver. Stating his experience, the report explains that the driver said that even the radio started playing local hip hop at full volume.

This was possible because the hackers were controlling the car from their location. Additionally, this type of hack is possible in the new technology driven cars where connectivity is being marketed as the major advantage. In fact, the hackers were also able to control the accelerating pad. The driver explained the experience as shocking. The two hackers have developed the code entirely, which is expected to end up as any automakers nightmare. With the successful experiment, these security experts have clearly established the threat that technology poses.

Meanwhile, the report on Baltimore sun explains that the hackers were able to get into the car by simply using its infotainment system, probably the most unsuspected area in a regular car. The experiment has also raised alarms with regards to the safety of the driver. The security experts said that there are thousands of such easy to hack cars plying the roads every day. This clearly increases the risk, furthermore for the drivers who may be exposed to this threat unknowingly.
