Katie Holmes appeared on "Good Morning America" to promote her new TV series "Ray Donovan," reported Mirror. However, while she plays the show's Ms. Joey Potter, questions about a "Dawson's Creek" reunion still could not be helped.

It is not the first time Katie Holmes was asked if she would agree to a "Dawson's Creek" reunion, but when asked on GMA about its possibility, the 36-year-old appeared enthused.

"I think we'd all have a really great time doing it. I don't know. It's a wonderful question to be asked, and we had a wonderful time making it, so we'll see," Katie Holmes answered excitedly.

However, despite Katie Holmes's enthusiasm for a "Dawson's Creek" reunion, the idea is not set on stone since according to James Van Der Beek, who played the Dawson in the hit TV series, said that it is entirely up to the writers and creator Kevin Williamson.

Van Der Beek spoke to Huffington Post Live to promote his CBS show "Friends With Better Lives" when he was asked about the "Dawson's Creek" reunion. He said Williamson does not want a reunion happening.

"Well [creator] Kevin Williamson said he didn't want to write it and he didn't think it would be artistically gratifying for the fans," he said. "Which was all the excuse I needed to say. I can't conceive of a scenario where people would think, 'That's so great. I'm glad they did it. That was totally worthwhile and not cheesy.'"

Another problem that would hinder a "Dawson's Creek" reunion is the death of the character Jen Lindley, played by Michelle Williams, in the series finale, according to The Inquisitr.

As for Williams though, she is open to a reunion and would "really love" to do one.

"My character died in the end, so there are certain limitations for me. It's either I come back as a ghost or I'm shot through a lot of gauzy, hazy light as my nineteen-year-old self," Williams said in 2012.

As for Pacey, played by Joshua Jackson who currently stars in the show "The Affair," he appeared not on board with the idea of a "Dawson's Creek" reunion.

"Well, we killed the show so I don't think that's ever going to happen. Never say never. If I'm out of work for enough years, absolutely. We'll be old and gray and nasty by the time [that happens]," he said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

Rumors of the "Dawson's Creek" reunion sparked after Holmes posted a throwback photo on Instagram of her 1998 Rolling Stone cover, according to People.

"#TBT the tire swing!" she captioned the pic.
