Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Sam Bradford is "up and ready" for the start of the team's training camp this August, according to NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.

Reports disclosed that the 27-year-old signal caller "is looking great" during his continuous knee rehabilitation this summer. Bradford suffered two ACL tears in the past two years that sidelined him for most of 2013 and the whole of 2014.

Last March, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly took a gamble on the 2010 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year by trading the team's then starting QB Nick Fowles for the injured playmaker.

A lot of NFL analysts saw the move as a huge gamble on Kelly's part and some have even criticized it, but if the 51-year-old mentor's risk pays off this coming season then a lot of mouths are going to get closed.

This next month at the NovaCare Complex would provide a preview of what is in store for the partnership of Bradford and Kelly.

However, the former Oregon Ducks head coach clarified that Bradford is not yet his primary quarterback as he is intending to give mercurial passer Mark Sanchez an opportunity this training camp to show him that he could start the team's season-opening game against the Atlanta Falcons in September.

The battle for the quarterback positions is one of the most interesting storylines in the Eagles camp this summer as Tim Tebow and Matt Barkley will also try and settle which one would be the third-stringer.

Meanwhile, NJ Advance Media's Eliot Shorr-Parks reported that Bradford will be playing the upcoming season without a new contract as he wants to show what he can do this year before negotiating for one next offseason.

Shorr-Parks said that it could only mean good news for the Eagles as they would benefit whether or not Bradford plays big this coming season.

If the former Oklahoma standout plays at an All-Pro level, then the team must and should give him the compensation he deserves. But if he unfortunately injures himself again, then the Eagles would not owe him anything.

Sports Illustrated indicated that Bradford is currently ready to "fully participate" in the team's 11-on-11 drills next month after holding himself back during the OTAs and mandatory camp. It sure looks like Kelly's gamble is set to reap a lot of dividends for the organization soon.
