Around 79,000 strollers and rumble seats are being recalled by UPPAbaby due to defects on its products that impose choking risks among babies.

The US federal regulator Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued the recall on the company Thursday, saying the strollers and Rumble Seats' bumper bar poses danger for children as they could bite off a piece of the foam covering on the crossbar and choke, WLOX reported.

The products subjected to recall are the UPPAbaby 2015 Cruz and 2015 Vista strollers and 2015 Rumble Seat, all of which have a bar with foam covering.

Both the Vista and Cruz strollers have black or gray aluminum frames with black fabric seats, a black storage basket under the seat and a colored fabric canopy. The RumbleSeat on the other hand, is a separate seat attachment that can be connected to the stroller's frame, RTT News has learned.

The Vista stroller costs around $860, the Cruz model retails at $500, while the RumbleSeat is prized at $170.

About 8,000 of the said items were sold in Canada, and 71,000 more were sold in the United States.

The baby stroller and seats maker has already received 22 reports of children biting off a piece of the bumper bar however, there were no injuries reported so far.

CPSC is urging those who have bought the items subjected to recall to immediately remove the hazardous bumper bar and to contact the company to avail a free bumper bar cover and warning label.

"Consumers should immediately remove and stop using the bumper bar on these recalled strollers and RumbleSeats and contact the firm to receive a free bumper bar cover and warning label", the agency instructed in a report, according to Dispatch Times.

The UPPAbaby products being recalled were sold at Amazon.com, BuyBuy Baby and other retailers between December 2014 and July 2015.

This is not the first time that a baby product company issued a baby stroller recall.

In 2014, Graco issued a stroller and travel systems recall across North America due to amputation risks in which the product's folding mechanism could cut off a child's fingers, as per CBC News.

Around 11 reports of finger injuries including one report for finger laceration, four partial fingertip amputation and six reports of fingertip amputation were received by Graco in the U.S.
