Nexus 6: High-End Camera, Longer Battery Life, Monster GPU and Release Date by End of 2014?

Google remains mum on the Nexus 6 launch but Google Vice President Sundar Pichai said that the Mobile World Congress 2014 that it would be revealed in October. The device is expected to rival the Samsung Galaxy S5, coming with the latest features and reasonable price.

Experts looked back at the launch dates of previous Nexus smartphones and if the Nexus 6 release would be based on history, it could be launched later in the fourth quarter of 2014.

Google is also speculated to be collaborating with HTC to produce the Nexus 8 or 9 or Volantis, which might be one of the reasons why the companies are supporting Android L. All Nexus devices will run on the latest Android OS and will also be the first ones to be updated during roll outs. The Android L is rumored to be released anytime between October and November this year.

There also are rumors that Motorola and Google are working together for the release of the Nexus 6. The project codenamed "Shamu" supposedly occurred after Lenovo bought Motorola last January 2014. It reportedly resulted to Motorola working with Google's Android unit to produce the upcoming Nexus device.

The Nexus 6 is speculated to have a 5.2-inch full high definition screen with a Corning Gorilla Glass protection and 1080x1920p resolution. According to G4Games, it will run on Android L and could sport either an octa-core MT6752 SoC with a 2.0GHz frequency or a Quad-core MT6732 64-bit chip clocked at 1.5GHz. It is still unclear whether the Nexus 6 will sport a 20 megapixel camera with an HD mode or a 1 megapixel camera. The device may also boast of a 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory and a 3100 mAh Li-Polymer battery. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has features and a price tag that can come as a disadvantage to the upcoming Nexus 6.
