George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin Acquire Their Marriage License

Sorry ladies, it's not bad dream. It really seems that George Clooney is pushing through with his wedding with Oxford graduate and British barrister, Amal Alamuddin. The pair has just acquired their marriage license and posted their wedding banns at Chelsea Town Hall in London.

Aside from each one's professions, the wedding banns also indicated Clooney and Alamuddin's statuses. Clooney was listed as "previous marriage dissolved", while Alamuddin was noted as "single".

The said legal notice, which will be displayed in the town for 16 days, indicated that 53-year old Clooney will be marrying 36-year old Alamuddin in his £25 million home in Lake Como next month. Aside from the nuptials in Lake Como, the two are also planning to wed in Italy.

The mayor of Lake Como agreed to bring in local police to man the area in order to make sure that the wedding is kept private. If individuals even swim within 100 meters of Clooney's mansion, they will be slapped with a £450 fine.

Clooney and Alamuddin met at a charity event and started dating in September 2013. The Oscar-winning actor-director proposed to Alamuddin in April.

Alamuddin is a high-profile lawyer with an impressive list of clients, which includes WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. She is also one of the advisors of former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

Clooney divorced his former wife, "Mad Men" actress Talia Balsam in 1993. Balsam is now married to her "Mad Men" co-star, John Slattery.

Clooney said that throughout his marriage to Balsam, he was "a lousy husband," and had shared in the past that he didn't plan to get married again. Because the actor seemed happy with being a bachelor, it came as a surprise to many that he has decided to get married again.

Included in the list of the actor's former girlfriends are models Stacey Kiebler and Elisebetta Canalis.
