James Franco Calls Out Gawker’s ‘Homophobic Scoop’ About Him Living with Actor Scott Haze

James Franco will not take any "homophobic scoop" against him lying down.

The actor took to his Instagram account on Thursday to call out news website, Gawker, after it reported that he is co-habiting with his friend and "Child of God" co-star, Scott Haze.

Gawker recently published a report, which highlighted a New York Times article about Franco sharing a home with his friend.

In the article, Gawker described Haze as Franco's "live-in boyfriend."

"But theirs is the kind of relationship - somewhat ambiguous, seemingly gay, probably romantic - that almost always sends The New York Times into a bizarre moral panic," the article, written by a J.K. Trotter, read.

So Franco responded to the Gawker article in his usual way, posting a screenshot of the article headline along with the caption: "GAWKER - always getting the cutting edge, homophobic scoop!!! Go see CHILD OF GOD in theaters and see me direct my live-in boyfriend, SCOTT HAZE!!! Love you SCOTT!!!!"

Haze, for his part, retweeted his past interview with Out magazine, which incidentally, also touched on his friendship with Franco.

A part of the Out article quoted Haze, who described Franco's artistic partialities as coming from the actor's need to imitate his heroes who "happened to be homosexual."

The two actors met about 10 years ago when they were still students in a Los Angeles acting school.

It wasn't the first time that Franco's sexuality has been a topic of speculations.

The "Pineapple Express" actor, who often posts mocked up images of him and his male co-stars in steamy embraces, told The Daily Beast in 2013 that he wishes he was gay.

"Great! Bring on the gay jokes! Because these aren't insults at all," Franco said. "I don't even care if people think I'm gay, so it was like, 'Awesome!' I mean, I wish I was... I wish I was gay."
