The upcoming 2014 MTV Video Music Awards has gotten much more electrifying with Beyonce's full participation.

In addition, the 32-year-old singer is the most nominated artist for the year with eight Moonmen nods in total.

The categories in which Beyonce is nominated includes Video of the Year for the "Drunk in Love" clip she made with her husband, rapper Jay Z. The song is also up for Best Collaboration award.

Beyonce is also nominated for Best Female Video and Best Choreography for "Partition," while "Pretty Hurts" is in the running for Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Video with a Social Message.

One of the factors that helped Beyonce get a number of nominations was the surprise release in late 2013 of her top secret, self-titled album that included 17 short films.

Beyonce has already taken home a total of 11 VMA awards, including the trophies she got with Destiny's Child. The awards included the Video of the Year she won in 2009 for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and Best Female that she got in 2007 for "Crazy in Love."

The awards show on Aug. 24 will also mark Beyonce's fifth performance at the event. She performed on stage "Baby Boy/Crazy in Love" in 2003, "Ring the Alarm" in 2006, "Single Ladies" in 2009 and "Love on Top" in 2011.

The MTV Video Music Awards will air on Aug. 24 at 9 p.m. ET.
