Blake Lively Responds to Martha Stewart’s ‘Preserve’ Comments

Blake Lively is positive that she can be a lifestyle entrepreneur - like her idol Martha Stewart - on top of being an actress.

The "Gossip Girl" star is weighing in on the comments made by Stewart regarding her new career.

"I want to have my own path professionally and even as [Stewart] said, I'm an actress," Lively told E! News on Thursday. "I'm doing something totally different so now I sort of have two careers going on and it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out."

Stewart made the headlines in late July after she weighed in on "Preserve," which is Lively's new lifestyle website.

"I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress," Stewart told the Huffington Post in an interview. "Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress. I just did a movie yesterday, though - I can't even tell you about it - but I want to be Blake Lively."

Despite her jokes, Stewart was not jesting when she was asked if the actress can be the next Martha Stewart, to which she replied, "Let her try."

Lively said she knows that she can juggle her acting career in addition to curating a lifestyle website.

Lively recently launched her website, Preserve, which is part lifestyle magazine and part e-commerce. It is complete with some products, including bow ties, jewelry, jars of vegan food supplies, home ornaments and kitchen stuff, most of which are picked by the actress herself.

Lively and Stewart became friends when the actress and her husband of almost two years, Ryan Reynolds, moved to Connecticut. Stewart, who lived in the same neighborhood as the two actors, said the young couple started coming over her house as "friends."

"They're very friendly, very nice people," Stewart said. "In a way, kind of shy - not shy on the screen, at all, if you've seen any of Blake's movies - but very shy in person."
