Alex Visker, a 19 year old lad in Utah who suffers from fatigue, stomach pain, hives, extreme nausea and headache almost every day is found to be allergic to all kinds of food.

Gerald Gleich, an allergist working with Visker said that "He's a very interesting case." "First of all, he is quite allergic to many foods, but in his case the degree of ability to tolerate the foods is really quite exceptional and he hasn't been able to eat the foods. This kid was darn near starving when I saw him," added Gleich, according to The Washington Post.

Visker is hypersensitive to proteins present in food stuffs which make it impossible for him to eat any food. Visker's doctor has put him on elemental diet; he is given EleCare formula through a feeding tube that is attached permanently to his stomach. Alex feels much better than ever before after he is put on elemental diet, said the doctor.

Visker though sick for the past 300 days managed to do his school work and graduated from Lehi High School. Although he struggled much to graduate his health condition did not allow him to attend the graduation ceremony.

The teen's mother Jodie Visker said that "It was such a challenge." She also added that "He just went from super, super sick to feeling well enough to get out of bed and then just doing nothing but homework and trying to keep up. He was trying to do the work without the instruction so it was kind of on his own, trying to figure it out. It was stressful and a race right down to the end, but he just did phenomenal things with it," according to KSL.

Visker who is currently managing to live upbeat with his disease likes to cook for his friends. He is also planning to take up online classes to become a computer programmer which he is confident of accomplishing in spite of his debilitating disease, according to People.

Madison Abbott, a stay-at-home mom and guitarist from Lehi who organized a benefit concert for Alex, told People that Visker is an inspiration, he hasn't lost hope all along and his determination is a lesson to be learnt from him.
