Current WBC Silver welterweight titlist Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) had disclosed to reporters the possibility of a match with fellow Briton Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) next year on the condition that the latter must fight higher-end opponents first to build up their faceoff, as per Bleacher Report.

The 28-year-old Bolton native also mentioned about a potential bout with Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao in Dubai also next year. As his practice, he referred to himself in the third person again saying that "2016 will be Amir Khan's year; you will see me in two of the biggest fights in that year."

King Khan revealed that Brook's agent and promoter Eddie Hearn talked to him about the prospect of his client fighting him at London's Wembley Stadium this fall. He told Hearn, though, that Brook should fight "a couple of big names and beat them" first to make the fight bigger before he approves of it, as reported by Boxing News Online.

The 2004 Olympics silver medalist said that the reason he wants Brook to escalate his brand is for the fight to become a global showcase and not just a hit in the UK.

In reality, however, both fighters clearly need to make themselves known and fight more elite-level boxers before they can be considered as top crowd and pay-per-view drawers. That is especially true in the United States where they are both virtually unknown to American fans.

Meanwhile, Khan also mentioned that Top Rank chief Bob Arum contacted him about a possible Pacquiao fight in March or April of 2016 in Dubai, but that it will all depend on the status of Pac-Man's recovery from shoulder surgery.

But reports indicated that such a fight would be impossible to stage in the Middle Eastern city as the Dubai Sports Council is said to be not intending to hold it in their country at that time of the year, according to Boxing News 24.

It does not mean that the Pacquiao-Khan fight will not be held somewhere else, though. If Khan's forecast is to be believed, then he may have a great run next year, instead of waiting forever for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight to come along his career.
