Four-year pro Markieff Morris demanded to be traded by the only team he had in the NBA, the Phoenix Suns, saying that he just needs "to move on" from the fiasco surrounding his twin brother, Marcus, being traded to the Detroit Pistons last month.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Markieff felt "disrespected" by how the Suns dealt Marcus to the Pistons without asking first for the latter's consent, and so he wants the team to trade him as well.

The twins played together in high school and college, and also in the pros with Phoenix since 2012, as per ESPN. Marcus spent his rookie season with the Houston Rockets in 2011-2012.

"One thing for sure, I am not going to be there," Markieff said. "If you want to put that out there, you can put that out. I don't give a (freak). I am not going to be there at all. That's just what it is."

Morris was referring to playing for the Suns this coming season, but he insisted that he will show up in training camp by late September if he is still not traded. "I've got to show up, no question. You can't do that. I will be a professional, don't get me wrong."

"But it won't get that far. I'm going to be out before then, should be," he added.

Morris had agreed to a four-year, $32 million extension in September last year, a lot lower than what he would have wanted, so that he and his brother could stay together. Phoenix gave his brother four years and $20 million, also significantly less than he wished for.

The twins agreed to the salary so that the team would not split them apart. Nevertheless, Marcus was still moved on July 9.

Bleacher Report's Dan Favale indicated that one of the possible destinations for Morris would be the Toronto Raptors.

If the deal pushes through, the 25-year-old Philadelphia native would be the Raptors fourth excellent signing this summer after young center Bismack Biyombo, veteran wingman and defensive specialist DeMarre Carroll, and Canadian point guard Cory Joseph.

Favale suggested that Phoenix could get veteran playmaker Luke Ridnour and small forward Terrence Ross in exchange for Morris.
