Vanness Wu 'Cozies Up' with Actor Philip Ng, Stands by Marriage Because of Religion

MTV Asia Aid - Arrivals

(Photo : MJ Kim/Getty Images) BANGKOK, THAILAND - FEBRUARY 3: Singer Vanness Wu from Taiwan arrives at 'MTV Asia Aid' at the IMPACT Arena on February 3, 2005 in Bangkok, Thailand. The fourth annual event was formerly called 'MTV Asia Awards' but has repositioned itself as an international benefit to support the relief effort following the Asian earthquake and tsunami.

Vanness Wu seems to have enjoyed a break from rumors about his marital life when he filmed "Chim Lung Jui Gik." The Taiwanese actor, whose name often landed headlines because of his and wife Arissa Cheo's Instagram posts, may have found a breather through his "bromance" with Hong Kong action star, Philip Ng. In fact, Wu reportedly "only has eyes for" Ng despite his popularity with their female co-stars.

In the photos posted on AF Spot Forum on August 8, Wu can be seen cradling Ng in his arms--princess carry-style. The two actors also gestured a pretend kiss while on a break on their scene at Kwai Tsing container terminal and reportedly fooled around with hugs when not working. Wu was all praises toward Ng's involvement in the action choreography and has taken inspiration from the martial artist to become a director someday.

"Philip designed the action from the beginning to the end. I look forward to one day when I direct an action film. . . It's a great chance to salute that era's [1980s] film actions," Wu shared.

Wu's recent Instagram posts consist mostly of behind-the-scene shots of the action film, possibly following up on his declaration in June that he might as well not post anything that may cause misunderstanding about his personal life. On his birthday August 7, Wu merely posted a picture of his snack consisting an organic peanut butter and Ritter Sport chocolate.

Despite an allegedly troubled relationship, Wu has steadily refused to consider divorce. He also declined to make any statement on the state of his marriage and often gave short answers to quell the issue. When asked recently about being missing-in-action on the 33rd birthday of Cheo Wu simply said "thank you" in response.

One insider, despite confirming that the couple often fought, also revealed that Wu is keen to stand by his marriage as a Christian. The source further disclosed that a pastor advised Wu to "work hard to mend his marriage." According to Asia Pop News, Vanness believes he is beholden to God for that union and must do his best to save it.
