Hollywood star Will Smith is said to be in talks of making a TV remake of the classic 90's hit sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", the same show that helped catapult Smith to stardom.

The actor's very own production company Overbrook Entertainment is apparently leading the work for the revival that is still "in the very early stages," TV Line reported.

In another report by Entertainment Weekly, a source said that the TV show in the works in not entirely a remake of "Fresh Prince" but is simply a modern day family comedy that may take on similarities to the 90's sitcom. But the report noted that there is yet to be a firm concept and script.

Speculations of the revival come on the heels of the hit sitcom turning 20 years since it went off the air. "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" stars Smith as a street-smart teen who always finds trouble and so he is sent to live in a mansion in Bel-Air with hopes of straightening him out. The comedy series launched in 1990 and went on air for six years.

Despite blockbuster movies, Smith always relates back to his days in "Fresh Prince" as the role that sent him to success.

In a previous interview with the entertainment site Smith shared how people still remember him as "Will" in the sitcom, "No matter how big the movies get, it's Fresh Prince everywhere," he said.

Meanwhile, Sony pictures confirmed last week that they will soon be filming sequels to Smith's movies "Bad Boys 3 and 4" slated for 2017 and 2019.

But sources say it is unsure yet whether Smith will be on the movie or behind the camera, Film reported. Some speculate that he may just work on producing the movie and not actually co-star with Martin Lawrence.
