Sharapova and Dimitrov Takes Their Relationship to Another Level

After a disappointing performance at the Rogers Cup in Montreal, Maria Sharapova hasn't packed her bags yet because she's still cheering for her boyfriend, Bulgarian star Grigor Dimitrov.

Sharapova was on hand to witness the quarterfinal matchup of Dimitrov and Kevin Anderson, who lost to the Bulgarian star in three sets 5-7, 7-5, 7(8)-6(6). Dimitrov will face Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semis.

The two have been dating for over a year now, they've decided to take their relationship to a whole new level.

Of course, the plan does not involve wedding bells.

Dimitrov is toying around with the idea of pairing with Sharapova and compete in mixed doubles.

The Bulgarian is still wooing the French Open winner Sharapova on this idea.

"I would probably not play a Grand Slam mixed doubles, even though he wants to," said Sharapova earlier this week in Montreal. "But he's much better and I don't want to make myself look bad."

Serena Williams was rumored to be dating the Bulgarian before she met the 27-year-old Russian bombshell.

It's quite normal for professional athletes to eventually wind up dating each other like Andre Agassi and Stefi Graf, and golfer Rory McIlroy who broke off an engagement with Danish Caroline Wozniacki, who recently lost to Williams in the quarterfinals.

"It's the best thing that can happen to you," said Dimitrov. "But it's not that easy."

"We hardly see each other. On the other hand, we truly understand each other. We know what sacrifice is," Dimitrov added.

Mixed doubles are only played during Grand Slam tournaments and the Olympics.

The five-time Grand Slam champion Sharapova had already competed in the 2004 U.S. Open along with playing partner Max Mirnyi of Belarus, who were eliminated in the quarterfinals by the tandem of Martina Navratilova and Leander Paes.
