LeBron James said that restricted free agent power forward Tristan Thompson makes them more dangerous in both short and long terms.

He made the comment while reminding the Cleveland Cavaliers front office it needs to make re-signing Thompson as No. 1 objective, according to ESPN.

Thompson's agent, Rich Paul, said his client will not play for the Cavs after this upcoming season if he is forced to accept a qualifying offer of one-year and $6.8 million.

The power forward and the Cavs broke off talks on a long-term deal in July.

Thompson wants a five-year maximum deal worth around $94 million but the Cavs' offers have been for less.

As noted by the Inquisitr, the Cavaliers gave Kevin Love a five-year deal worth $110 million.

That gave validity to Thompson's demands to get something not too way below what Love received.

After all, Thompson was an important piece to the Cavaliers that went all the way to the Finals while Love
rode the bench due to an arm injury.

Unfortunately for Thompson and Paul, there were no good offers that came while they waited for the Cavs to give in to their demands, which exposed the power forward's true market value.

Meanwhile, James acknowledged that the front office did a great job in re-signing James, Kevin Love, Iman Shumpert and James Jones this offseason and adding veteran free agents Richard Jefferson and Mo Williams.

The contracts totaled more than $200 million in guaranteed money.

James also revealed that Kevin Love asked to talk to him about what would happen to the team moving forward before signing a five-year, $110 million deal.

Love said he was encouraged with his conversation with James and persuaded him to sick it out with the Cavs.
