Defending Barclays Premier League champions Chelsea have had a horrific start to their season. After two rounds, they now find themselves close to the very bottom of the table with only one point. Meanwhile, their most recent opponent, Manchester City, sits on top of the League Table after handing them a 3-0 thrashing.

Title rivals Chelsea and Manchester City met very early in the season and after only two rounds, City already has a 5 point advantage against their Premiere League title rivals. On Sunday, goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho, showed Chelsea exactly what they have to worry about if they plan to keep their title this season.

Aguero showed his intention to score almost from the opening whistle. According to a play-by-play rundown by BBC, he forced a save as early as the first 22 seconds of the match. In the 15th and the 16th minute, he shot two consecutive attempts on target. Chelsea keeper Asmir Begovic kept Aguero out for as long as he can but the Argentine finally broke through in the 31st minute.

At the half, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho decided to bring in Kurt Zouma in place of John Terry. The change failed to make a difference and neither team was able to make a real threat on goal. When Manchester City broke through with a saved attempt from Yaya Toure, after the 60th minute mark,  Mourinho made another change. He brought in Juan Cuadrado in place of Ramires.

Chelsea still failed to make any offensive impact and Aguero manageed to get a shot in. He missed, but the threat is clear. The Chelsea goal was bombarded by three consecutive attempts before they can fire back with a shot on target by Eden Hazard. Unfortunately, it landed straight into Joe Hart's arms at the center of the goal.

In the 79th minute, Vincent Kompany finally sealed the deal for Manchester City. They found themselves 2-0 up with only 10 minutes to go. Last year's runners up decided to go for the overkill instead of parking the bus. They fired two more attempts from Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri before Fernandinho got the team's third goal in the 85th minute.

It's still a long way to go in the title race but Chelsea already need to catch up. Manchester City sits at the top and is tied at 6 points with Leicester City and Manchester United. Everton and Swansea round up the top 5 with four points each. Chelsea is now languishing in the 16th spot of the Premier League Table. They will be facing West Bromwich Albion next Sunday and attempt to climb back up the table.
