"The Rock" Dwayne Johnson has been pulling inspiration from his own troubled teenage years to encourage a group of youth offenders who completed a grueling six-month boot camp in hopes of helping them turn their lives around.

Johnson's new documentary "Rock & a Hard Place" takes a look inside a Miami Corrections and Rehabilitation Department program that conducts six months of hardcore boot camp training among young offenders facing time for various crimes, People reported.

Johnson shared on his Instagram how when he first met the inmates they were facing charges from robbery to attempted murder, and now he was congratulating them during graduation ceremonies after completing the boot camp.

"I gave them my word on their first night that would be broken down in ways they never knew imaginable... but if they stuck with it and didn't quit, they'd be built back up to become better men," Johnson shared on Instagram.

In the graduation ceremony were the proud parents of the inmates, their training instructors and even judges.

Johnson told People that looking back on his life as a troubled teenager himself inspired him to do the documentary. His life is proof that everyone will be given a second chance in life and this is what the actor wanted the young offenders to understand.

"When I was 13 or 14, I started getting arrested, doing a lot of things I shouldn't have been doing... [But] they're going to have another opportunity," he told the news site.

The former WWE wrestler was also an inspiration to a young man named Nick Miller who won his battle with cancer and attributed his fighting spirit to the actor, Today reported.

Things seem to be really looking up for The Rock. After a successful run of earthquake action movie "San Andreas", he started shooting for the next installment of "Fast & Furious", then over the past few weeks he has been making headlines for the big screen remake of the 90's TV series "Baywatch."

As if that's not enough, over the week he's joined the Disney family.

After announcing that he is voicing a character for the animated Disney movie "Moana," Johnson is now said to set to star in another Disney movie that revolves around its "Jungle Cruise" theme park ride, Variety reported.

The planned movie will be based on the Disney safari ride, the report added.
