Agnieszka Radwanska won her second WTA title as she defeated Venus Williams 6-4 6-2 at the Rogers Cup in Montreal on Sunday.

The third-seeded Radwanska became the first tennis player from Poland to win the Canadian Masters.

"I really had an amazing week," Radwanska said after the game. "I think I was playing much better every match."

The 34-year-old Williams had a long week, playing six matches in a row and looked tired during the match but all-in-all, she said she had a great tournament, defeating sister and World No. 1 Serena in the semis for the 11th time in 25 matches.

"I didn't imagine that I would get to the final," Williams said.

Against Radwanska, Williams said her opponents should be patient when playing her.

"I just didn't have everything to be patient and really work the point," said Williams. "I fell a little short today, but it's been a wonderful week."

Radwanska got off to a fast start by breaking the seven-time Grand Slam champion to go up 4-1, but the American quickly recovered to break the Polish and hold serve to make it 4-3.

Radwanska settled down to take the first set and followed with a service break at the start of the second set. Williams, however, was able to tie the set at 2, but she committed a couple of double faults on her serve to give Radwanska the set.

After a fruitful performance in this tournament, including a win over sixth seed Angelique Kerber and 14th seed Carla Suarez Navarro, Williams is expected to break the top 20 in world rankings.

The two are off to Cincinnati to participate in the hard courts of the Western & Southern Open in Mason, Ohio, where Victoria Azarenka is the defending champion.
