"Mortal Kombat" is revving up a new series, and this time, it is going to be on the big screen.

According to CinemaBlend, "Furious 7" director James Wan is in the project that is why it can be expected that the "Mortal Kombat Reboot" will be nothing like any sub par performance.  Wan will produce the movie that is said to be a revamped version. The said "Mortal Kombat Reboot" will not be based on former films or its video game counterpart, but rather a stand alone film that will take in all the martial actions originally expected from it.

In 1992, the first ever "Mortal Kombat" video game was released that is all made up of several levels of martial arts tournament. The tournament is composed of a mix of people and mythological creatures that made the game even more exciting; however, the first Mortal Kombat movie came 3 years after the first video game was released and is soon followed by "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation" after two years. The movie version of "Mortal Kombat" ended there despite plans to continue the series. The developer of "Mortal Kombat" changed, after the original went bankrupt, and surprisingly, the video game held on to the business with its latest release "Mortal Kombat X."

How the "Mortal Kombat X" fared lately has been the basis of the creation of its movie and by pitching Wan in the movie, one can say that the "Mortal Kombat" series has been widely supported by its fans.

According to the Tracking Board, the script of the "Mortal Kombat Reboot" is written by Oren Uziel, the original writer of "Mortal Kombat: Legacy," in collaboration with Dave Callaham of "The Expendables."

The "Mortal Kombat" video game has since sold at least 35 million copies, more than enough to consider putting it on the big screen. The 18-year gap after the last movie was released is more than enough to have prepared for the "Mortal Kombat Reboot." Adding Wan to the film, this might be the revival concept of the "Mortal Kombat" game.
