According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Ash is described as a "handsome, intelligent and very charming" character who is in his 30s. The publication noted that Muhney will be perfect for the role.

Back in 2014, the actor denied rumors claiming that the ABC executives offered him a role in the daily soap. Fans of "GH," however, were not buying it. The media outlet pointed out that Michelle Stafford (Nina) also denied her involvement in the soap only to announce that she has accepted a role, several months after.

Fans believed that the soap veteran can also help increase the rating of the show. It was said that the writers are desperately looking for ways on how to attract new and younger audience.

Muhney was fired from "The Young and the Restless" late last year, following sexual harassment allegations. The actor was axed from the soap after his younger costar Hunter King accused him of taking sexual advances towards her.

Speaking to TV Week Soap Extra, via Soap Central, Muhney held that King never filed a sexual complaint against him.

"There is no one anywhere, of any official capacity, who ever made any of those allegations," he said. "If there were, I would be the first person to come out and say, 'Hey, now, I've got to take you to court because what you've just said is lies and I have to sue you for libel and slander.'"

The actor further claimed that he decided to remain silent about the issue because he knew in his heart that he did nothing wrong.

Rumors of Muhney joining "General Hospital" have long circulated online immediately after he left "Y&R." According to Inquistr, the actor was even tapped to play A.K. Quartermaine in the series. The outlet hinted that Quartermaine may not actually be dead, following a similar plotline to Adam Newman's story in "Y&R."
