Josh Duggar Enters Treatment Center for Porn Addiction; Celebrities Checking Into Rehab, Not New

The parents of the former hit TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting" star Josh Duggar announced on Aug. 26, Wednesday, that their son decided to check into a rehabilitation center after the ex-actor previously confessed molesting underage girls, cheating on his wife and being addicted to pornography.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar stated on their family's website that Josh will undergo a "long journey toward wholeness and recovery." However, the announcement did not reveal other important details such as the name of the facility center, the type of treatment that their son will receive or the nature of the rehabilitation.

Aside from disclosing their son's decision to enter a rehab, Josh's parents stated that they are prayerfully hoping that "he comes to complete repentance and sincere change." Obviously, Jim Bob and Michelle were deeply affected by the controversies that their son underwent for the past few months. Not only they were grieved by Josh's actions, but they think those brought "great insult to the values and faith" that they taught their children.

After confessing that Josh cheated to his wife, Anna, the latter started receiving the right assistance and guidance to help her heal and regain enough strength to move on.

Prior to his decision to enter rehab, Josh released an online apology and there, he called himself "the biggest hypocrite ever," according to The Revoluzionne. It can be remembered that before the 27-year-old ex-reality star admitted molesting five underage girls, including two of his sisters, Josh was the executive director of FRC Action.

FRC Action is a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Family Research Council and the ex-reality star became their voice to young people in bringing "message of faith, family and freedom all across America." Since the group is known for being conservative, Josh decided to resign from the council.

Josh Duggar's decision to enter a treatment facility is not new to celebrities. There were actors far more famous than Josh who decided to take a hiatus just to break from life's struggles. One of them is Charlie Sheen, the "Two and a Half Men" actor known for his rants and public controversies. He reportedly underwent treatment for substance rehabilitation several times.

According to OK! Magazine, another well-known actor is Robert Downey Jr., who is popular for his "Iron Man" role as part of Marvel's "The Avengers." Due to drug addiction, he repeated his trips to rehab in the past and his last one was in 2001. On the same year, the "Daredevil" actor Ben Affleck also entered an alcohol treatment facility.

Other famous stars known for visiting rehabs are Kelly Osbourne, Jack Osbourne, Demi Moore, Nicole Richie, Britney Spears, and Keith Urban.

Fans of the reality show "19 Kids and Counting" can only hope that just like the other famous stars who underwent rehabilitations, Josh can still bring back his glory days in the future.
