Hong Kong stars Ruco Chan, Raymond Wong and Linda Chung has gathered together to promote their new period drama 'All That is Bitter is Sweet'. Ruco Chan has attended an event to promote the drama, sharing his experiences while filming on the set.

Ruco Chan has spoken about his feelings on filming the new drama, stating that he has only been able to film two Republic-era dramas since his debut ten years ago. During that time, he filmed 'Love in a Miracle' under ATV. 'All That is Bitter is Sweet' is the second period drama he is shooting.

The actor has also shared that the drama was filmed locally in Hong Kong, claiming that there no outstanding sceneries in the 30-episode series. He has expressed his opinion that the drama would have been able to showcase great settings if it was filmed in China, but also cleared that the producer wanted to emphasize more on the storyline over aesthetics.

Ruco Chan had been under scrutiny while promoting his drama 'Ruse of Engagement' at the beginning of his year when rumors that he'd undergone plastic surgery surfaced.

The actor clarified this issue, saying that he has not subjected himself under cosmetic surgery and his bloated appearance was mainly because he has filmed too many underwater scenes for the new drama.

"This series broke my record. I had four to five underwater scenes - I submerged in sea water, fresh water, and even lake water," Ruco said.

Ruco said that he had filmed underwater scenes when the weather in Hong Kong was at its coldest and he has bloated after getting sick and having water retention.

Another rumor about the actor was that he was dating his co-star Linda Chung who is playing the leading lady. The talk started when the two were photographed together driving around the city around the time the drama started filming. Reports say that the actor was taking good care of the actress on set.

In response to these rumors, Ruco stated that he and Linda were only friends and they were work colleagues as well.

On the interview, he was also asked about his ideas regarding the TVB stars' exodus from the agency and said that the network has always provided artists with good opportunities. When asked whether he was renewing his contract with TVB, the actor stated that he would leave it up to the company and that discussions about it wouldn't be any time soon.
