No progress has yet been reported on the negotiations that would extend the Gaza truce to end the month-long war between Israel and Islamist militants, said by an Israeli official on Tuesday.

A senior Israeli official said that wide gaps between Israel and Palestinians are being bridged. Reports said that the announcement was released on Monday after Israel has agreed to ease conditions in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was expected to negotiate in the Cairo talks together with top ministers, but the cabinet meeting was cancelled, some reports said.

The negotiations aimed to reach a long-term ceasefire agreement, with Egyptian negotiators mediating between the opposing parties, to end the conflict that began on July 8, which claimed thousands of lives, mainly civilian casualties, soldiers, and militants.

'Hamas' Deputy Political Leader Moussa Abu-Marzouk said the present cease-fire will be the second and the last. The talks were difficult and it encompasses signs of seriousness. Hamas has not accepted any of Israel's demands, Abu Marzouk added.

According to some media reports, Israelis insist to disarmed Hamas-ruled Gaza, but Palestinians refused it with Hamas demanding the removal of an Israeli blockade of the territory.

Based on some reports, Israel resisted to lift the Gaza blockade and suspecting Hamas will use it to restock weapons from abroad if they get access to the territory. Egypt also noticed the security threat of Hamas.

Michael Oren, Israel's former ambassador Michael Oren said to the U.S. that he don't see an end in sight as of this moment. It's really going to be a matter of which side calls 'uncle' first, Oren added.

Even there's no final agreement yet, both Israel and Gaza militant groups have abide the three-day truce that began yesterday, having no immediate reports of rockets fired from Gaza or Israeli air strikes and shelling.
