Sony PlayStation 5 [RUMORS]: Expected to Have a 2018 Launch?; PlayStation Now To Replace Physical Consoles!

Sony Computer Entertainment, popularly known in having a failed relationship with Nintendo leading to the production of PlayStation console line up, is rumored to ditch disk drives to its upcoming PS5 and will start using streaming services instead, Realty Today reported.

According to Tech Radar, citing Sony PlayStation's Magazine Editor Ben Wilson, the use of disc drives are getting more and more obsolete but not quite phased out, thus there's those gamers who prefer to have games in special editions with invisible downloads.

Though rumors of the upcoming PlayStation 5 is very popular right now, it is said that Sony will still be releasing new PlayStation 4 models plus a newly redesigned CUH-1200 that will enhanced the sound and improve the console's heat generation and power saving mode.

Meanwhile, there is no announcement or confirmation yet on when Sony will be releasing its new PS5; however, reports predict that it may be launched within 2018 to 2020. Basing on the past PlayStation releases, wherein PlayStation was released in Dec. 3, 1994, PS2 in March 4, 2000, PS3 in Nov. 11, 2006 and PS4 in Nov. 13, 2013, multiple reports are now suggesting that the official launch date of the much-awaited console will happen 3 years to 5 years from now.

The upcoming PS5 specification is said to be powerful and is expected to have an HD Video of about 1700pixels. The PS5 is expected to offer better multitasking ability, quality graphics, a 4 layered Blu Ray Disc, advanced Wi-Fi and a huge storage capacity. There is no solid confirmation yet if there will really be a PlayStation 5 though rumors suggests that the new console will be cheapest among other consoles.

On other PlayStation news, PlayStation Now release is nearing, which is speculated to hit UK market this year. PlayStation Now is a cloud-based gaming service that lets gamers to play their PS3 games on their Bravia Tvs, PS Vita consoles and PS4. Many speculate that the PlayStation Now will replace physical consoles.
