In consistence with the latest updates, China has big plans to embark on an exploration on the far side of the moon. The mission, which is destined to land a lunar probe on the dark side of the moon, is schemed by China's space program erstwhile before 2020.

This is expected to be the first ever attempt to land a lunar probe on the far side of the moon. According to engineers, China's space program is increasingly becoming ambitious over time as evidenced by these prospects, CNN confirmed.

Up to the present time, only three countries have landed a spacecraft on the moon; Russia, China and the USA. This time however, China plans to extend its attempts beyond the limits.

According to State Media Reports, the Chang'e 4 mission, as termed, is expected to happen sometime before 2020. Zou Yongliao, an affiliate of the Chineese Academy of Sciences' moon exploration department, confirmed this when he was interviewed by the state broadcaster CCTV.

Yongliao also added that the mission's intention would be to conduct studies on geological composition in the unreached side of the moon. This could end up into the possibility of placing a radio telescope for astronomers, something that could change and fill a 'gap' in studies of the universe.

Yongliao also said that the mission would include low-frequency radio waves in the studies. The far side of the moon is inaccessible when it comes to radio transmissions and therefore it could serve as an excellent place to set up complex instruments.

Back in December 2013, China landed on the moons brighter side with its chang'e 3 probe. It also last year, completed its first return mission to earth using a chang'e 5 test vehicle which took pictures of the earth before returning back to earth,Gizmodo reported.

What is more, China's space program is also approaching another accomplishment. It plans to launch a March 6 rocket this fall ahead of its other major lunar projects. With these developments, China may be the first ever country to land a probe on the dark side of the moon.
