The next Hitman game will be delayed and released digitally in 2016, announced by the developer IO Interactive.

Instead of accommodating the deals and releasing an incomplete game, there is more work to be able to complete the game before its release which led to its postponement. This game is delayed from this year's December release to a few months further to March 2016.

Hitman: Agent 47 is the latest cinematic and gameplay interpretation of the Hitman franchise. The game bombed at the box office and received less than stellar reviews. Whereas the series Hitman: Absolution has criticism on its relatively linear approach to assassination.

Hitman is supported by missions released after the title launches. It is the new entry in video game series following the silent assassin Agent 47 which is the barcode-marked Hitman.

The extra months are allotted to put some finishing touches on various aspects of the game and to expand the launch content to the title. The title will include an infographic highlighting the scope of the game. On the map, over 100 accidents will be triggered, over 300 unique targets will inhabit the level, and 70 challenges should be completed. There will also be plenty of spaces to set up a death trap for enemies.

According to gamerant, publisher Square Enix Europe CEO Phil Rogers said that Hitman will not be released if not yet finished and promised the fans that it would be a better game. The delay will ensure that Hitman will be supported with updates. For PC, Xbox One, and PS4, the game will be pre-ordered.

One of the big concerns of the game is the post-release strategy and plans of IO Interactive, geeks of doom reports. A large chunk of the game released and then small continuations will come after. IO Interactive plans to keep the players playing the game, making it episodic through releasing new missions at a time.
