On Sep. 22, Tuesday, Damascus has received reconnaissance aircraft and fighter planes from its ally, Moscow, to fight the Syrian jihadists called Daesh.

According to Yahoo News, an anonymous senior official confirmed that Moscow's air force delivered at least five fighter planes and reconnaissance aircraft as well as 20 Russian combat and transport helicopters that will allow the Syrian President's regime to identify their targets---the jihadists---with great accuracy and efficiency. These arrived on Sep. 18, Friday, at a military base in Latakia province, which is Syrian President Bashar Al Assad's traditional heartland, the source added.

Aside from these warplanes, Moscow also delivered some more other sophisticated equipment, e.g., radars, drones, and infrared binoculars, for the military to fight the Daesh, in which this equipment can be both offensive and defensive weapons. This means that the Russian weapons are having an effect in Syria. One reason is that the army in Latakia will be able to identify targets accurately by ground and air.

However, according to Gulf News, Russia may just appear to prepare the two bases for troops to build up a mere defense for Damascus. As it is, the civil war has leveled up that has raised Washington's concerns.

In a satellite imagery, two sites near Latakia airport showed that the Syrian military bases looked like they prepared to receive the Russian forces as it is expected to deploy 2,000 military personnel. Later on, the forces will secure the facility by including fighter plane crews, troops, and engineers.

By this move, Moscow shows as an unwavering supporter of the Syrian President since the conflict has killed over 240,000 people since March 2011. Because of this, Washington fears that Syria's civil war would escalate into a more bloody risk of incidents or battle, which is also the reason that Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, traveled to Moscow to meet President Vladimir Putin on Sep. 21, Monday.

Netanyahu then told the Israeli media after the meeting that Putin and he agreed on a mechanism to coordinate the two countries' military actions so that Russia and Israel do not accidentally exchange fire in the battle field Syria even though these two nations want to ensure the stability in the Middle East.
