Mr. Sirna also added that a lot of people were screaming, shaking, and crying. Some people were even asleep and were woken up. There was also a girl next to him started freaking out and crying, saying that she was afraid of flying as it was. Eventually, the flames went out. He noticed that they were not far from Bali when they announced over the radio that the engine lost power. Later on, he saw that the plane came in to land at Denpasar as he could see the lights of the emergency vehicles. After that, there was a loud applause for the pilot when the plane landed.

On the other hand, Cathay said in a statement that the engine was shut down and emergency landing was declared, adding that the aircraft landed safely on Denpasar. All passengers and crews were unharmed and safe. The company stressed that safety was its highest priority.

Cathay Pacific was already investigating the incident, which involved the aircraft Airbus A330.

A spokeswoman from Bali Airport, Sheryl Yunita, also confirmed that the flight made an emergency landing on the island due to a "technical problem" . Despite the incident, it was also declared that no other flights were disrupted because the plane made a safe landing.
