F-250, F-350, and F-450 models will come in a new aluminum body like its predecessor the F-150 which performed quite well. The new design will cause a decrease in the overall weight of these vehicles.

The new heavy duty steel frame made from aluminum will make the vehicle more nimble with an increased towing power capacity. The new models will come with an approximately 350 pounds less weight.

As Automotive News puts it, the upcoming Ford F-series will offer more hauling capability despite its slimmer looks. This is a big gamble for Ford Motor Corp. as this will be the first-ever attempt to develop such a truck.

Plans for the 2017 Ford super duty trucks was initially made public at the State Fair in Texas. The new super duty trucks are expected to go on sale in the fall of next year.

The F-series has become the bestseller and the most profitable vehicles of Ford Motor. Though shifting to a full aluminum body can be viewed as a gamble, the heavy-duty steel frame is expected to hit among the most avid Ford customers.

The high-strength steel frame will provide the customers 24 times strength and stiffness, and much longer cabs. The new models are expected to deliver 16 segment-exclusive features to its avid customers. LED cargo box lighting and a remote tailgate release will surely bring more excitement to its features.

The reduction in the weight of the new models can reach as much as half of its 700-pound predecessor, the F-150. Aside from the major weight difference, the new F-series will feature lighter axles and fenders.
In line with its established benchmarks, the new designs will center on capability, performance and efficiency.
